NEEDLECRAFT FOR KIDS
You will need:
- Binca fabric
- Blunt needle
- Scissors
- Wool in assorted colours
Cross Stitch
- Start by bringing the needle and thread up through the fabric at A, then go
down through the fabric again at B, then back up at C and back down at D.
Repeat across or down the fabric as required.
Front of fabric
Fastening the ends of the thread:
- At the beginning of a new length of thread, hold a short length at the back
of the fabric where you are going to start sewing and fasten it in place
with the first few stitches.
At the end of a piece of thread:
- Run the end of the thread under the back
of the last few stitches worked. It is best not to use knots at the back of
your work as they may show through the fabric.
Back of fabric
Running Stitch
- Start by bringing the needle and thread up through the fabric at A, then go
down through the fabric again at B, then back up at C and back down at D.
Repeat across the fabric as required.
Front of fabric
Fastening the ends of the thread:
- Secure the ends of the thread at the back
of your work under the first and last few stitches as shown.
